Charles Dickens commemorative vintage teapot Celebrating David Copperfield by Charles Dickens. David Copperfield and his aunt scene with gold gilding and Charles Dickens on the lid. Sadler pottery mark dates to no later than 1995 when it changed to blue. Measures approximately 19cm/7.5inch pout to handle, and 17cm/7inch high. About Sadler Sadler and Sons Ltd was founded in 1882. They specialized in making the popular Brown Betty teapots, although did produce some gorgeous fine china teapots as well. As the Millennium loomed, so did financial issues for the longtime company. By 1999, some of the production was being outsourced to China. In spring 2000, the doors at Sadler closed as the company went into receivership. It was the end of an era. Very good pre-loved condition. No outstanding flaws seen. No cracks, chips, or deep scratches. Scuff may be evident as to be expected but does not deter from its beauty. Please see Item Specifics.
