Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! Here’s a FINE example of a subdued desert tan unit logo patch for Fourth Marine Division. During WWII, Marines actually wore these as a shoulder sleeve insignia. The practice was discontinued in 1947, but the patches are still worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items. (This, of course, is not a WWII patch, but a modern subdued variant.) 4th Marine Division has a long, distinguished list of battle honors, beginning in WWII with hard-fought battles in places like Saipan and Iwo Jima! Currently the 4th MarDiv is, of course, made up of Marine Reserve units all across the nation. Many units from 4th Marine Division served honorably in Operation Desert Storm in the early nineties. Recent Decades: Of course, Marines from 4th Division have made history all over the world in the Global War on Terror! In the past few years, units from 4th MarDiv have rotated in and out of Iraq and other hotspots in support of both OEF and OIF! This is a NEW and UNUSED patch.
