Doll is in played with condition and is missing lashes. She has loose joints and green knees that don’t hold a pose. Fashions are in excellent to near mint condition. Items may need cleaning, repair, and/or new closures. Items may have been owned by a smoker or pet owner and sprayed with Febreze. Don’t be a victim, do your homework. Vintage Topper Dawn Dolls have pink, peach, and coral lip color. They do not have bright red, plum or wine lips. The lips should not be clumpy or bumpy. They do not have painted fingernails or earrings. If a doll has any of these characteristics, they have been customized and could permanently damage the doll. Ink from Sharpie markers have chemicals that will damage dolls over time. They have been used on various ”customized” dolls to add eyeliner, lower lashes, nail polish, as well as touching up boy hair paint. White lips are due to the oxidation of the paint originally used by the factory. Green eyes on Dale and Angie dolls are caused by the copper used in the brown paint. A seller could put a played with doll in one of those boxes and claim they are never opened or used. Be cautious when buying these dolls. Ask questions, look closely for things that don’t make sense. Compare them to other similar boxed items. Standard Topper boxed dolls have plastic cellophane that can be replaced.
