Today I have up for consideration a Beautiful Taihei – Fine China of Japan Fruit – Dessert Bowl. This piece is in the ”Springtime” Pattern. This piece is 5-1/2″ in diameter & has a White background with Blue – Pink and Green Flowers on the Rim and is trimmed in Platinum. This pattern was Discontinued only in production from 1975 -1985. The History of the Fine China Company Backstamps that use the terms ”Fine China Japan” together with rather general words like ”Delux” are not Brand name China companies; they are ”Secondary” companies. Secondary Backstamps are those used for the purpose of exporting, marketing & retail distribution rather than for the purpose of identifying a maker. The maker in these cases did not want to be identified either because there was no kudos in their own name (too small & unheard of) or they were too recognizable (Noritake).
