Metal miniatures are stripped (unless sold as New or Painted), so you can see exactly what you are getting. These plastic mini’s are very durable for the gaming table and need no preparation prior to painting (as there is no residual mould release agent). These Bones figures were originally made in China but in March 2013 Reaper invested in the machine needed to produce Bones at its factory in the USA. From that point production was gradually transferred for the line to be made in house. The very fine and thin parts of Bones miniatures may need to be straightened. This can be done by putting them in hot water to soften them, then straightening them as you dip them in cold water. You will receive the unpainted listed item MIB (which means Mint in Blister / Box) otherwise referred to as BNIB (Brand New in Box). NO PLASTIC BASE IS INCLUDED.This is the invisible version of a male Cleric figure. He is armed with a hammer. He also carries a holy book and is heavily armoured in full platemail. I say translucent, but the figure is not crystal clear, it does have a tint to it. I’m not one for plastic, but producing these is a very good idea. You could just remove the figure when the player character goes invisible, but that can cause issue with who’s where. That said, having the character on the table using this clear miniature can cause people to meta-game, as they know where the person or creature is and this can affect their gameplay. A good way to do it is to mark it on a separate map, so the DM knows who is where or to play with better roleplayers! The separate maps can get complex if many people are invisible so see through plastic minis are very handy. I have seen that people use a light wash of inks to emphasise detail on clear plastic minis, but as I say, it does already have a slight tint, due to the plastic used. If you do tint it further and are unhappy with the effect, you can just wash off inks (but wise to check first). You can practise before on the blister pack canopy to get an idea of what the finished model might look like. If you do use inks, then you’ll need to seal them in, which will also change the look. Humbrol do a non yellowing water based varnish. Humbrol Clear can be bought in either gloss, satin or matt. It is easily thinned and used in modelling on glass canopies to give them a realistic effect. I’d advise taking a good look at this product.
