For sale is an authentic, original, older than vintage, Mid-20th Century 3 3/4″ Hot Shot in the original black glitter pattern made circa 1955 by the old Eddie Pope company of Altadena, California. It is in very good condition with intact body finish, red eyes, attaching hardware, and treble hooks. There is some rust on the metal parts from storage. This model was made by Eddie Pope prior to its acquisition by Luhr Jensen in the 1970s. This is an early version of the Model No. 25. Neither this lure nor the Model No. 25 are being made today. This lure is preowned and used. Please review the foregoing description and photographs carefully. I gently clean my sale items; however, I do not alter or modify them in any way. Anglers and collectors often prefer to own and use older tackle, especially earlier versions of lures still being manufactured, or models and patterns that have been discontinued. Older lures are often more valuable, have proven track-records of success, and are generally better made than many of today’s versions. Frankly, older lures, especially those made out of wood, are just better investments. I have fished and collected vintage tackle since 1955, and am committed to displaying and describing my sale items precisely to the best of my knowledge and ability. I rate the condition of an item on a scale of poor to excellent. I factor in age when making this assessment. The older an item, the more acceptable are wear and minor flaws. These judgments are my own, based my knowledge and experience. If you believe I am in error, please let me know. I want my listings to be as accurate as possible.
