High Quality Scope Mount Designed and Manufactured in the USA by Precision Prototype and Machine.Low Profile.No drilling, tapping or permanent modifications required.Simply replaces the rear sight base.CNC machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum bar stock.Machined with a tapered dovetail mounting base to perfectly match the rail on the barrel.For rifles with round or hex receivers.Anodized with a black type II finish for looks and durability.Does not require a bent bolt. This mount attaches securely to the dovetail that is on the barrel under the rear sight base, and does not rely on 2 tiny screws through over sized holes in the mount or the ”Teeter Totter” designs that utilize one small pin through the rear leaf mount that must take all the force of the recoil. This mount has almost 3″ of positive contact on each side of the mounting rail for a total of almost 6″ of secure mounting contact, along with 3 set screw locations that tighten against the top of the dovetail rail for even more holding power. Once installed this mount has a clean ”Factory” look with smooth sides, no screws and bolts sticking out of the sides, and the hand guard fits back in place just like it is supposed to. I designed this mount and machine them ”In House” in the USA on CNC equipment so I can control the quality, and nothing leaves the shop that I would not install on my own rifles. This mount has the exact same proven mounting system that is used on my see through Mosin Nagant mounts that are available in other listings, but after many customer requests for a low profile offering I decided to manufacture this mount to fill the demand. The scope base is a Picatinny style with 14 mounting slots so you can use your own rings and adjust the position to where you desire. This mount requires a long eye relief scope (8″-11.5″ relief is optimal) since it is mounted forward of the receiver. Since the rings are not machined in you can use whatever long eye relief scope and ring (Weaver or Picatinny) combination you choose, and if you ever want to change scopes you do not need to worry if it will fit the mount. With the scope forward on the mount you can still use stripper clips to load instead of loading single rounds as required with a full length scope mount, and you won’t have the extra expense of having to get your bolt turned down like with a full length mount. Installation instructions and all screws are included.For the Mosin Nagant M91/30 only.Not For the M44, M38, M39, M91/38 or the T53.Requires the use of a long eye relief scope with approximately 8.5″-11″ of eye relief. This is for the scope mount only. The rifle, scope and rings are not included and are only used to show how the mount works and looks. This scope mount requires a long eye relief scope.
