History

In the spring of 1999 we produced and sold the first Heritage Fly Rods and we have not caught up with the orders. Comments from both dealers and fishermen have been nothing short of sensational. Both fresh and saltwater fishermen have raved about their casting quality and fish fighting strength from Labrador for salmon to Florida for bass and tarpon, Colorado for trout to Oregon and Alaska for steelhead and salmon.

Is it any wonder that we sold almost 2000 rods in 6 months? We designed these rods for the fisherman who wants quality at a fair price….and gave it to them. "Over the past 10 years everyone in the sport has seen top name brand fly rods skyrocket in price and it's getting old. I do think however that there is a better mid-level rod market in terms of quality out there now that you didn't use to have and I think heritage falls nicely within that category. I tried out there 9ft 8wt and it felt as light as the helios, was made very well, and was an absolute cannon but could lay the flies in nice as well in tighter lies. I'm trying the 9 ft 5wt next week on my trip and think it will perform well as a dry fly rod tossing bigger flies to the bank. Figured I'd give them a shout out on here since I think most of us have grown tired of 700-800 dollar rods. Lets be real here too, its like golf clubs, if you suck at golf no driver is gunna help you get it together and the same is true with rods, a little extra cash will get you a nicer cork, a flashy design which I don't think many care about, and usually a little lighter in the hand feel.
