Emerson Opener (Emerson Wave) – patented by Ernest Emerson, placed on the spine of the blade – a hook allowing for quick opening of the blade when removing the knife from the pocket by hooking the hook to the edge of the pocket. N690Co – high carbon stainless steel with cobalt addition for structural uniformity. Hardened in the range of 58-60 HRC. Manufactured in the Austrian Böhler-Uddeholm steelworks. The Hawkbill profile mimics the way an eagle claw or tiger claw tears, pierces and cuts simultaneously. Smooth blade (Plain type) with an ultra-thin tip and perfect curvature for maximum cutting capacity. The oval cut in the blade has increased the hump of the thumb rest (ramp), which positions the thumb directly over the opening, allowing the knife to be opened quickly even with the glove.
