We’ve been selling karaoke since 1988. That’s a long time! When I wanted to put my business phone number in the Yellow Pages the “karaoke” category did not even exist. I had to list the business under “Musical Accompaniment”. I’ve seen a lot of changes in these three decades. The formats that we have used to listen to our music has gone from cassette tapes and Laser Discs to Compact Discs w/Graphics, MP3+G and digital downloads. The good news for those that still have a karaoke cd+g player is that we still have thousands of discs still available, many of them are rare and hard-to-find, such as this one. Howard Andrew Williams was not only a great singer but a great man. He started his career singing with his three older brothers as ‘The Williams Brothers’ and then started his solo career about fourteen years later. He had his own TV Variety Show that was broadcasted from 1962 to 1971. Add to that numerous TV Specials. His show launched the career of the Osmond Family and won three Emmy Awards. He recorded some 43 albums in the 70 years that he was in the music industry so to put together a single disc with so many songs to choose from is an impossible task but this karaoke disc picks some of the highlights of his great career. ”Moon River” from the movie ’Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ won many awards and became one of Andy Williams standards. ”A Fool Never Learns” from 1964 is a great song and very difficult to find on karaoke. ”Red Roses For A Blue Lady”, ”It’s Impossible”, ”Almost There” – the list of great songs goes on and on.Andy Williams loved family and those values comes through in his music.
