Up for sale is a nice CLAed (Cleaned/Lubed/Adjusted) example of the classic Nikon Nikkor-N 28mm f/2 lens in the Ai version of the Nikon F mount.The fastest-aperture 28mm lens available at the time it was released and one of Nikon’s first lenses to use a floating element design, this lens remains a highly-sought after classic due to its exceptional image quality, low light performance, and ability to produce images with extremely shallow depth of field. Lens is in nice vintage condition with moderate exterior wear (minor brassing/bumping), excellent mechanics, and glass free of scratches/haze fungus.Additionally, this lens has been completely disassembled and CLAed(Cleaned/lubed/adjusted) with full iris cleaning and helical lube replacement for top performance. This is particularly important in this model, as the degradation of the original lubricants in the floating element typically lead to excessive play and migration of oil onto the aperture iris. Where there is extensive dust or internal lens soiling, I will disassemble lens cells and clean off surfaces; however, it is my general philosophy to keep lens elements in their factory positions in assembled cells when at all possible to ensure optimum performance.
