ACORN BBC MASTER 128 INTERNAL RASPBERRY PI COPROCESSOR WITH HDMI OUTPUT This is a Buy-It-Now sale for an internal Raspberry Pi CoProcessor kit, for the Acorn BBC Master 128. It is not suitable for any of the other range of the 8 bit machines, please see my other listings for an internal kit for the Model B and B+.The Raspberry Pi CoProcessor fitted to this kit is a Pi Model 3A+, running the latest Indigo firmware, also known as a PiTubeDirect, at 1.2GHz (See the GitHub project page for more info). It plugs into the internal TUBE connectors on the motherboard of the Master 128.This add-on allows you to emulate all the CoProcessors that were available for the BBC Micro back in the day, at blisteringly fast speeds, and of course, at a much lower price with everything on one board! They can emulate CoProcessors including the 6502, 65SC102, Z80, 32016 for Panos, 80286 for DOS, 6809, ARM Eval System and more, as well as having a native ARM mode running at the full core speed of the Pi with blisteringly fast BBC Basic V.As well as emulating all the popular second processors of the beeb, the new firmware allows you to use the HDMI output of the Pi as a second screen as well, for extra high resolution and lightning fast graphics and programming in the 6502 and native ARM cores. Note it’s NOT a screen mirror for gaming though, you still need to use the RGB output of the beeb, however new games that use the Pi have been converted to allow them to run through the HDMI output, such as DOOM*, giving much better graphics performance.Remember, software to run on these must be written either specifically for the TUBE system, or using the correct BASIC or OS calls so that it is compatible. The majority of games do not run on the system, unless designed for it. The most popular one is the Executive Edition of Elite, which runs VERY fast indeed.No additional power supply is required, these run off the internal power of the Beeb. You must ensure that the two internal TUBE connectors on your machine is clean and not corroded or damaged, otherwise this can cause connection issues. All Master 128s have the TUBE host code fitted, so there is no need for any additional DNFS or other ROMs to use the system.Kits will come with a HDMI cable, and a leaflet leaflet giving instructions on how to use the CoPro. No BBC Micro software for the Co-Processor itself is included, however boot files for various cores are on the net, on my website under the downloads section, or on the USB stick of GOTEKs that I supply, which is the perfect companion for this add-on, which is compatible with all the CoPro cores.
