Here we are offering a Jerome Thibouville-Lamy music box, circa 1870. The music box is in very good to excellent cosmetic condition. We are not familiar on how to operate this gem of a music box, so please review the video. All we have learned is that there is a crank on the left side of the box which you pull up to ”crank the music” There are also 2 slide controls on the right side of the music box which we are not sure exactly how they work. We think, one may be to stop and start the music, the other slide control we are not sure what it does. We were able, as you will see in the video, to get some musical sounds out of the box but we believe it is not working as it was originally intended to. So, as you will see in the video, the box does produce some music, which is unidentifiable. So with this said, this music box is being sold as is, no returns. Perhaps it can be restored to its original working condition, but we will leave this up to the buyer to investigate. Still a remarkably beautiful, rare music box that displays extremely well. Weighs over 15 pounds before boxed.
