eBay I need to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. Tasca made a name for themselves with their highly detailed and accurate Sherman kits of all flavors. As Asuka, they have continued this, and I would estimate 75% of their catalog is still dedicated to Sherman variants. This release is the very successful M4A3E8 (or Easy Eight) Sherman tank used at the end of WWII and into Korea and beyond. It comes with a working suspension and individual T66 track links, as well as photo etched metal parts. I found a handful of listings on eBay (mostly from Europe), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this to you very quickly. Here is what I have found online about this outstanding kit: The Asuka Model website (tasca-shop.ocnk.net) shows the box art and has six photos of a finished model, but not many details about the kit. From other sources, I have found the following information about this amazing kit: In order to improve the performance of the M4 Sherman medium tank, which had increased in weight due to repeated improvements, a wider track and horizontal suspension (HVSS) were adopted. The Easy Eight appeared as an improved version of the M4A3’s 76mm turret type. It was put into actual battle from the end of 1944 at the end of World War II and contributed to the final victory of the Allied Forces. · Modeled on the early appearance of the tank at the end of World War II · The HVSS suspension can be swung back and forth and the T66 caterpillar is articulated · Etching parts are used for the light guards · The commander’s cupola uses transparent parts · Includes two types of barrels, an M2 heavy machine gun and jerry can · Contains four types of US Army markings for the northwest European Theater Scalemates.com has a listing (as Tasca #35020) that states that it is a 2010 release based on a 2006 Tasca new tooling. The Asuka kit listed here has a 2017 date on the box, so I assume that it was re-released after Tasca had changed their name to Asuka. Brett Green published an enthusiastic First Look Review on the missing-lynx.com site that has 10 high resolution photos of the box art, sprues, PE fret and decals. He points out the extreme detail of the suspension, hull and tracks and concludes with: “Tasca continues to work its way diligently through the major variants of the M4 Sherman. Their 1:35 scale U.S. Medium Tank M4A3E8 Sherman “Easy Eight” with T66 Tracks is a wonderful example of the model manufacturer’s art.” Jim Starkweather delivered a detailed In Box Review on the archive.armorama.com site with almost 80 high resolution photos and close-ups of the sprues, PE fret, decals, tracks and instructions. After a brief history of the Easy 8, he describes the intricate assemblies used for the gun, tracks and cupola. In summary, he said: “As Tasca is known for their attention to detail and higher cost, it’s probably no surprise that this kit will be highly sought after by allied AFV fans. Highly recommended.” Saul Garcia gave us a pretty technical In Box Review on the track-link.com site that runs through each subsystem, along with 15 detailed photos of the parts. He praised the various options and extras available, as well as the profound accuracy and detail of this kit, saying: “This is definitely one of the best and most accurate kits made if built directly out of the box.” This kit is in a large, sturdy 15” x 9.5” x 2.5” box. You can see from the photos that the kit is still sealed with four tape strips, so it is still factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with about 500 olive green parts, 280 track link parts, over a dozen photo etched metal parts, 16 clear plastic parts, 24 poly caps and a nice set of decals.
